Emily Evans-Galeski BKin, MPT

Emily has worked in the field of physical therapy since 2003. She completed a diploma in Physical Therapy in Germany in 2006 and went on to achieve a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy at the University of British Columbia in 2016. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and Health Sciences from UBC. Amongst her great interpersonal skills, Emily has excellent proficiency in diagnostic and assessment procedures as well as extensive experience in exercise prescription, manual therapy techniques, and Functional Dry Needling/ IMS. Emily brings a unique hands-on approach to physio and has comprehensive involvement in the assessment and treatment of sports injuries, osteoarthritis, and neck and back pain. She has a personal athletic background in competitive highland dance and currently enjoys activities such as hiking, kick boxing, yoga, swimming, and snowboarding.

Justin Carpenter BKin BEd

Justin has his kinesiology degree from the University of British Columbia, is trained in Functional Capacity Evaluation, Functional Movement Screen, and is certified in soft tissue release. He has had first-hand experience working with physiotherapists, athletic therapists, occupational therapists and other health professionals for over 8 years. Having experience in a collaborative health care team Justin has aided numerous clients, who sustained injuries during motor vehicle or work place accidents, to recover in a timely and efficient manner. He also works with clients with previous or chronic injuries to reach their health and fitness goals. Justin uses a variety of unique assessment techniques to find the underlying dysfunction before designing an individualized program to meet his clients’ goals. He is a strong advocate for client education and takes the time to teach each individual the underlying principles for continuing safe and effective self-care. Being a previous semi-professional collegiate athlete Justin also has extensive knowledge about high intensity training for recreational or competitive sporting activities. In his spare time Justin looks for any opportunity to get involved with sports. Justin lives for football and will take joy in any opportunity to talk about the Philadelphia Eagles or his fantasy roster. You may also find Justin playing some defensive end in the top flight flag football league at Slocan Park.
